Overview And Experience
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Brittney Macht developed a strong interest in criminal justice from a young age. This passion led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Winnipeg where she graduated in 2020.Brittney attended to the University of North Dakota in 2020 for her first year of law school. Here, she received two awards for the highest grade in Lawyering Skills, the Adrian McLellan Memorial Scholarship, and the UND School of Law Merit Scholarship.Brittney transferred to Robson Hall Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba to complete her Juris Doctor. Here, she volunteered with the University of Manitoba Community Law Centre and represented clients facing criminal charges. Throughout her final two years of law school, Brittney also worked with Legal Aid Manitoba as an externship and summer student where she gained valuable court experience, and worked for experienced criminal lawyers.Once graduating law school in 2023, Brittney articled with Legal Aid Manitoba where she gained a further understanding of both criminal law and prison law.Brittney was called to the bar in 2024 and has joined Smith Corona Cook & Munce as a criminal defence lawyer.Brittney’s passion has driven her to vigorously advocate for her clients and defend their rights. She will work hard to find the best possible outcome for your charges.
